Gold and Silver May Correct

Full Article: Gold and Silver May Correct

By: Bob Moriarty

On March 10th, amid massive bearishness on gold and silver, I called for a tradable bottom. It turned out to be a timely call. Resource shares didn’t do much but we had a $100 move higher in gold and $1.50 move in silver.

The opposite is true today. The DSI on gold hit 90 on Thursday April 13th. That’s not a major top but it’s an indication that bullishness is persuasive. Too persuasive for my blood. In addition, we are back at near record open interest in silver futures contracts. The last time silver’s open interest was this high, silver was threatening $21 an ounce.

Should You Sell?

Look In the mirror- do you see a professional investor staring back at you? I certainly experienced many trading ups and downs.
I would like to start out by referencing my friend/associate and one of the smartest people in the business, Bob Moriarty of 321Gold.com from his insightful investing book CLICK HERE: “NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING“. This book has helped a lot of investors make sense of the markets and has gotten great reviews.
As Bob notes “If you don’t take a profit when you can, you are going to take a loss when you have to. It’s the only alternative to taking a profit.”
As Bob also very astutely notes after helping someone to win a jackpot at a casino, “to keep the money, you now have to stop playing”. We are not saying that you have to stop playing in the stock market as this is not the same as playing the slots.
However it may be prudent to take some of your winnings off of the table! As Bob also says, “The behavior of people runs in cycles.”
Another point he makes is that there are no experts but there is a wise way to invest and a wise way to handle and keep your profits once they occur! We will attempt to explain.

BUYING

They say it is easy to buy shares in a company but much more difficult to sell and most people can attest to this being a true statement. For some reason, the pride of ownership gets in our brain pathways and can short circuit our logic!

This is added to the fact that nowadays there is an endless amount of conflicting advice constantly bombarded upon us from all sides – such as: buy and hold, follow the fundamentals, follow the technicals, use a combination of both, find a guru, don’t follow gurus, play it safe with a bank, you have to take risks to make money, invest like an algorithmic computer program, farmers are best at commodities…it is endless!

SELLING

So what is a logical way to approach taking a profit?

Well it may be boring but in a bull market for juniors such as we are experiencing again (finally!) – it may be a wonderful idea to get your original investment back and subsequently let your profits ride since nothing goes up forever and in a straight line. This takes the stress out of the situation. (Note: we are NOT investment advisors, nor do we profess to be. You should consult your financial advisor).

A lot of professionals will give you the advice to sell half when it doubles and let the rest ride. Great advice we can all generally agree on. Bob notes in his book “a reasonable plan to profit might be to sell 33% of your shares when you have a double, sell another 33% of the remainder when it doubles again, and further 33 per cent every time it goes up another 100 per cent. That way you get most of your investment back in cash early on but keep benefiting if it goes up.”

With that method of selling you can ride your positions in comfort not feeling left out if it goes ‘to the moon’ and not hating yourself if the company reports negative news or a market crash occurs. Your money is doing it’s job and you have created options for yourself along the way. Priceless.
Everyone has different objectives and a risk tolerance.

Bob Moriarty in his Gold Report Article talks about how he recently made some good gains in MGX Minerals shares:

“Let’s call the shares cheap on the 19th of January at $0.69. After all, we have the benefit of hindsight and now we know it went almost 300% higher in seven trading days. So again with the benefit of hindsight we know $2.75 was not cheap, it was dear. So I sold. Naturally like most people, I am incapable of picking the very top. I sold for $2.35 for a gross profit ignoring commissions of $1.40 a share in ten days on a $0.95 investment. I missed the top by minutes but made a nice profit.”

I certainly wish I was as smart to trade that well – Bob’s book is certainly helping.

MGX Minerals, Keek and MX Gold are just a few stocks of MANY that have recently been on a roller coaster ride in terms of their share price -trending upwards but dipping along the way. No one can accurately predict the highs and the lows – but the prudent ‘investor’ knows a good company, follows it and rides out the waves. If there are red flags he/she may sell. It is always good to stay on top of your investments and follow your investments intently.

As many have noted including our friend Mr. Moriarty, “Nobody ever went broke taking a profit.”

Happy Investing!

Explor Explores the Abitibi

Full Article: Explor Explores the Abitibi

By: Bob Moriarty

Explor Resources (EXS-V) has a major gold project in the heart of the Timmins-Porcupine Mining Camp in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt. This camp has been responsible for the production of over eighty million ounces of gold over the past century. Their flagship property, the Timmins Porcupine West target bears significant similarity to the nearby Hollinger-McIntyre Mine with past production of over thirty million ounces of gold.

The Timmins Porcupine West unit or better put, the TPW project, has had over 115,000 meters of drilling up to 2013 and intersected gold in 113 of 118 holes. A current 43-101 resources indicates 1,079,000 ounces of gold. Explor optioned TPW in 2009 for shares and cash, which have been completed. Explor owns the project 100% subject to a 3% NSR.

In December of 2014 Explor optioned 55% of the TPW project to Teck Resources (Teck) for an exploration commitment of $8 million Canadian by May of 2019. That infers a value of about $14.55 million for the entire project. If you multiply that number by the remaining 45% controlled by Explor you realize that given today’s share price of $.07 times the number of shares outstanding less the cash on hand, Explor management could sit back, smoke a Cuban stogie while sipping an icy cold gin and tonic since there literally is zero risk to the stock at $.07 a share.

Since the current resource at TPW is 1,079,000 ounces of gold, EXS owns 45% or about 485,000 ounces. The market values those ounces today at a tiny $12 an ounce in one of the leading gold camps in the world. That’s pretty cheap. Those ounces should be valued at $25-$40 an ounce at this stage of exploration.

In addition, Teck has the right to increase their position in TPW an additional 15% by spending another $4 million Canadian once their first option has been fulfilled. If 15% is worth $4 million, then the remaining 30% EXS will hold is worth $8 million. All these numbers are higher than today’s market cap and totally ignore all the other projects Explor is working on today.

The TPW project has the potential for being one of the largest gold projects in Timmins. Mineralization has been found over a 2,000-meter strike length. The mineralized area is up to 1500 meters in width and potentially 1000 meters deep. Typical mines at Timmins have an average strike length of 350 meters.

The last 43-101 was released in August of 2013. Since Teck began exploration, they have focused on doing the basic background work and relogging existing core. Teck is the operator on the TPW project and completed 5 core holes in 2015 targeting five new zones outside the West Deep Zone in a 4,700-meter core drill program. All holes returned gold mineralization.

Meanwhile, Explor continues to advance their other mineral programs. The Ogden project is immediately to the east of TPW. Explor began a 3,000-meter drill program on the Ogden property in March of 2016. Holes 02 and 05 showed gold mineralization of 2.06 g/t over 1.50 meters and 1.99 g/t gold over 1.80 meters. Those results could be considered of technical interest but hardly barn burning.

Explor continues to work on their other projects in Ontario and New Brunswick but naturally of highest interest to investors would be the TPW project.

If an investor is looking for a low risk option on the price of gold, the TPW project through Explor would be interesting. The shares climbed as high as $.24 in March as interest in gold resource companies got hotter but have declined to as low as $.065 lately which is as low as the shares have been all year. The shares are very low risk at these prices.

Explor is an advertiser and I am biased. I do have a bid in to buy some shares should they drop just a little. From a technical point of view, the company is highly regarded and well staffed. They are not very good at communication and that has a lot to do with their share price. That’s bad for them but good for you and me. There is great opportunity there at a low risk. Do your own due diligence.
