It is not uncommon for many people to get a little, ok VERY, excited when word of a television show focusing on their industry surfaces. In my case, the industry is investment markets and the show is ’Billions’. I can remember just over a year ago being out with industry colleagues and everyone on the street knew it was coming.

Once the show started , it really did live up to many of our hopes for what we thought it could be, including capturing the unique lingo, such as:

By: Neils Christensen

(Kitco News) – While the U.S. dollar is showing some resilience following a massively disappointing March jobs report, it might not have much impact on gold as investors focus on growing geopolitical risks, according to some analysts.

Gold is ending the week near a five-month high because of renewed safe-haven demand after the U.S. launched 59 missiles at a Syrian military airbase overnight. The market also added to its gains after the U.S. government reported only 98,000 jobs were created last month, much less than expected.

NEXUS GOLD BEGINS PHASE TWO DRILLING AT NIANGOUELA GOLD CONCESSION, BURKINA FASO, WEST AFRICA

2017-04-05 11:24 ET – News Release

Mr. Peter Berdusco reports

NEXUS GOLD BEGINS PHASE TWO DRILLING AT NIANGOUELA GOLD CONCESSION, BURKINA FASO, WEST AFRICA

Nexus Gold Corp. has completed its phase 1 diamond drill program at the 178-square-kilometre Niangouela exploration permit, located approximately 85 kilometres north of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. A 2,000-metre phase 2 program is now under way to test down the dip and strike extensions of gold mineralization identified by the company in its phase 1 program. The program will also test additional targets identified through surface mapping and prospecting. Results will be released once received, reviewed and verified.

The first-phase diamond drill program was designed to test ground defined by anomalous rock samples collected from underground artisanal workings and anomalous rotary air blast (RAB) drilling completed by the company in December, 2016. This initial program successfully intersected gold mineralization in eight of the first nine holes drilled on the concession. The mineralization was contained in a silicified shear zone occurring in the host granite. Quartz veining is associated with the shear zone.

Additional analysis of first assay results

The initial assays from the first nine diamond drill holes at Niangouela, as announced in the company’s March 7, 2017, news release, have undergone additional analysis. The company applied metallic screen analysis and bulk leach extractable gold (BLEG) analysis, in addition to gravimetric fire analysis.

This additional analysis has resulted in the change in values of several intercepts originally released on March 7, 2017, including hole NGL-17-DD-008, which saw an increase from 8.50 grams per tonne gold over 0.62 metre to 11.7 grams per tonne gold over 0.62 metre and from 120 grams per tonne gold over one metre to 132 grams per tonne gold over one metre. In addition, hole NGL-17-DD-009 increased from 2.61 grams per tonne gold over four metres to 2.95 grams per tonne gold over four metres. This hole also gained an additional one metre of 5.00 grams per tonne gold.

“The presence of free gold and the results of the BLEG and metallic screen analysis has demonstrated the need for ensuring that the maximum amount of material is being analyzed,” said senior geologist Warren Robb. “The company will be employing the appropriate method to gain the most representative gold value as is possible,” continued Mr. Robb.

The updated assay results from the phase 1 program to date are shown in the attached table.

The sampled core was delivered to the independent Actlabs laboratory in Ouagadougou, where the samples underwent analysis by fire assay with an atomic absorption finish. If samples returned values greater than 10 parts per million gold, the sample was reanalyzed by gravimetric fire assay. Samples with identified visible gold were analyzed using a fire assay metallic screen analysis. The company employs a quality assurance/quality control program of inserting standards, blanks and duplicates into the samples stream as a supplement to the internal checks employed by Actlabs.

The drill program tested the shear zone for over 200 metres along strike and intercepted the zone to depths of 105 metres below surface. The shear zone remains opens along strike and to depth.

About the Niangouela gold concession

The 178-square-kilometre Niangouela gold concession is located on the Boromo greenstone belt and is proximal to the Kalsaka deposit and the Sabce shear zone. It is accessible by road and has one major orpaillage (artisanal workings).

In December, 2016, the company conducted an 802-metre rotary air blast (RAB) drill program that delineated an approximately 1,000-metre (one-kilometre) quartz vein and a 500-metre secondary strike running oblique to the main vein. This vein has now been identified in trenches, artisanal workings and through RAB drilling. It remains open in all directions.

A total of 11 rock-chip and grab samples were taken during the initial exploration phase. Sample NG005, taken directly from the primary quartz vein at a depth of 46 metres, returned a value of 2,950 grams per tonne gold. Sample NG007, which contained coarse visible gold and was taken from material extracted from a depth of approximately 60 metres, returned a value of 403 grams per tonne gold. Sample NG008, a single large piece of primary quartz vein containing host rock inclusions and a cluster of visible, returned a value of 49.8 grams per tonne gold.

The company then followed up with the first-ever diamond drill program at the concession. Eight of the first nine drill holes successfully intercepted gold, with highlights including 26.69 grams per tonne gold over 4.85 metres (including one metre of 132 grams per tonne gold) and 4.00 grams per tonne gold over 6.2 metres (including one metre of 20 grams per tonne gold). All mineralization in these first nine holes was present at depths of 57 metres to 124 metres below surface.

About Nexus Gold Corp.

Nexus Gold is currently concentrating its efforts on two gold projects located in Burkina Faso, West Africa. The Bouboulou gold concession is a 38-square-kilometre advanced exploration target where previous drilling has confirmed multiple zones of gold mineralization. The Niangouela gold concession is a 178-square-kilometre project featuring high-grade gold occurring in and around a primary quartz vein one kilometre in length and associated shear zone.

In case you haven’t already noticed, inflation has been steadily creeping up since July. In February, the most recent month of available data, consumer prices advanced at their fastest pace in five years, hitting 2.7 percent year-over-year. March data won’t be released until next week, but I expect prices to proceed on this upward trend, buttressed by rising mortgages and costs associated with health care and energy.

One of the consequences of strong inflation is that real rates—what you get when you subtract the current consumer price index (CPI) from the nominal rate—have turned negative. And when this happens, gold has typically been a beneficiary. This is the Fear Trade in action.

Coronet Metals, Mineworx to form JV for White Caps

Coronet Metals, Mineworx to form JV for White Caps

2017-03-28 10:46 ET – News Release

Mr. Theo van der Linde reports

CORONET ANNOUNCES JOINT PROCESSING AGREEMENT ON ITS WHITE CAPS TAILINGS PROJECT

Coronet Metals Inc. has entered into a binding letter of intent to form a joint venture (JV) with Mineworx Technolgies Inc., a 100 per cent wholly owned subsidiary of Iberian Minerals Ltd., to process the estimated 250,000-tonne gold-bearing historical tails and mine dumps (1) at its wholly owned White Caps gold mining project in the Manhattan mining district of Nevada. Through Coronet’s wholly owned subsidiary, White Caps Mining Company, the company controls the historical tails and mine dumps.

Under the terms of the agreement, Coronet will provide all necessary financing for the testing and project development. When commercial production commences, the joint venture shall be responsible for all operational costs, and all revenues and profits will be shared on a 50/50 basis, after Coronet fully recovers its investment. Mineworx’s share of the JV will be reduced to 35 per cent after a two-year period.

Further to the Feb. 2, 2017 new release, the company successfully completed the first round of hydrometallurgical test results on the gold-bearing tailings and dumps. The hydrometallurgical testwork was performed by Mineworx and Met-Solve Laboratories (Langley, B.C.) with ALS Global (Vancouver) performing independent verification of the sample solutions and solids.

The patent-pending, environmentally friendly, non-cyanide-based EnviroLeach leaching formula was used on the gold-bearing tailings and mine dumps to determine and optimize recoveries of gold.

Coronet and Mineworx subsequently proceeded toward a second round of testwork, adjusting the EnviroLeach formula, and the results have either confirmed or improved upon the results from the first phase of testing. Given these grades and recoveries, it was decided to enter into a formal agreement to further investigate the economic potential of processing the material.

The joint venture will first build a small-scale 50-kilogram pilot plant at Mineworx’s Burnaby, B.C., facility to determine recoverability and reusability of the formula, gold recovery from solution, optimization, and preliminary economics. Following a successful small-scale pilot plant test, a one-tonne-per-day pilot plant will be built to test 40 tonnes of material to confirm scalability, recoveries and economics.

Fred Tejada, PGeo, a director of the company, is a qualified person under the meaning of Canadian National Instrument 43-101 and is responsible for the technical information contained in this news release.

Cautionary notes regarding the White Caps production

The White Caps mining project has no established resource and is without a known body of commercial ore. The decision to commence production at the White Caps mine and Coronet’s plans for small-scale mining and milling operations of the historical tailings and mine dumps were based on economic models prepared by Coronet in conjunction with management’s knowledge of the property and the prior limited recent operating history of the White Caps project. The production decision and operating plan for the processing of the tailings and mine dumps were not based on any preliminary economic assessment, a prefeasibility study or a feasibility study of mineral reserves demonstrating economic and technical viability. Accordingly, there are increased uncertainty and economic and technical risks of failure associated with the production decision and operating plan, in particular, the risk that mineral quantities and/or grades will be lower than expected, the risk that construction or operations will be more difficult or more expensive than expected, the risk that the company will not be able to transport or sell the metal it produces on the terms it expects, or at all, the risk that, due to the absence of a detailed economic and technical analysis according to and in accordance with NI 43-101, the production and economic variables associated with mineral extractions and sale may vary considerably. Readers are cautioned that no reliable estimates of future production capability or the economics of any extraction activity can be made.

(1) References to tonnages are historical estimates. The estimated tonnage of 250,000 tonnes was provided by the two different mining engineering companies in October, 2011, that the company engaged to provide an estimate. The stockpile measurement is a technique to measure the volume and weight of commodity stockpiles. It is a scientific/instrumental method using total station equipment to determine the volume of the stockpile quantity. A qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral reserves nor does Coronet treat the historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral reserves. The company will have to conduct independent surveying, drilling, sampling and assaying of the tailings and mine dumps to determine the NI 43-101 tonnes and grades of the tailings and mine dumps. In conjunction with that, the company will have to continue with independent metallurgical analysis to verify recoveries. This work will form the basis to upgrade or verify the historical estimates as NI 43-101 mineral resources or mining reserves.
